I was honored to attend the historic dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on October 16, 2011. It was truly a moving and remarkable event!
The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial is the nation's permanent tribute to one of America's greatest leaders, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The speakers at today's dedication included President Barack Obama, several of the late Dr. King's children, and a host of civil rights, labor, religious, business, and educational leaders! Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder were among the constellation of stellar musical talents who performed in honor of Dr. King!
