"For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1 Fall is in the air! The seasons have definitely changed. And autumn, my favorite time of the year, has finally arrived! I've often pondered why I like fall so much. Maybe, it's because I was born in September! Fall has always been a special time for me - a time of celebration and new beginnings! Plus, the brisk, fresh air of autumn is so reinvigorating after the heat of July and August. The 2010 baseball season has drawn to a close with the San Francisco Giants, "The Boys of Summer", crowned Major League Baseball's world champions! Now, brand new football, basketball, and hockey seasons have kicked off. We also experience different seasons in our personal lives. We go through sunshine seasons of victory and celebration! But we also go through stormy seasons of difficulty and challenge. And while we may not be able to control the various seasons that we pass through, we can control how we respond to them! While we're going through a particularly rough season in our lives, we might do well to remember, it is only a test! (1 Corinthians 10:13) We can take great comfort in the knowledge that we have a Savior in Christ Jesus who is closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24) And he will never leave us nor forsake us! (Hebrews 13:5) If we only put our trust and faith in him, he'll see us through our tough season of discontent. We'll emerge intact with a testimony! And we'll be perfectly positioned to enter into a brand new season of confidence and victory! (Isaiah 26:3)
